Great Smoky Mountains National Park: Cabin By Michael Korfhage, Joel Anderson, 2013
Inspired by the iconic WPA-commissioned artwork of the early 1900s, our National Park series is meant to conjure nostalgia through design, to celebrate our American heritage and the gift of unbridled nature with pencil, brush, and stylus. This design depicts the historic Alex Cole Cabin, a single-pen one-story log cabin. Built by Albert Alexander "Alex" Cole, this cabin was originally located across from the Little Pigeon River. After it was chosen to be part of the National Register of Historical Places in the 1970's, the cabin was moved to the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail.
