The story behind the Apollo Beach Manatee Viewing Center is a heart-touching one. Since 1970, the Big Bend Power Station in Apollo Beach has delivered electricity to the community. The power station operates a discharge canal where warm, clean saltwater is directed back into Tampa Bay. The warm water began to attract manatees and soon the Manatee Viewing Center was born. Now the canal is a state and federally-recognized manatee sanctuary. The power station continues to operate, sharing its space with these beautiful, calm creatures. Inspired by that story, Anderson Design Group crafted vintage travel poster art of these incredible mammals. Perfect for decorating a child’s room or a great gift for the manatee lover in your life, this original artwork is available as an art print, canvas banner, metal sign, postcard, or notecard.
