Kappa are mythical water creatures from Japanese folklore that are said to live in ponds, rivers, and lakes. The word kappa translates to "river child" in Japanese. Kappa are often depicted as small, child-sized creatures with green, scaly skin, a turtle-like shell, webbed hands and feet, and a monkey-like face with a beak. Their most distinguishing feature is a bowl-shaped indentation on top of their head that contains a small pool of water called the sara (dish). Inspired by the ancient stories of these creatures, Anderson Design Group poster artists hand-rendered a vintage-styled poster of the mysterious Kappa legend, crafted in a fashion that’s reminiscent of the golden age of poster art and vintage art. This classic monster design is available as a poster print, canvas, metal sign, mini-canvas, or as a notecard or postcard, including with multiple size options available for the prints, canvases, mini-canvases, and metal signs.
