    Willa's Shortbread

For over 30 years, Willa's Shortbread has produced the finest shortbread cookies and cheese biscuits using traditional southern recipies and the most natural ingredients. In order to celebrate the heritage of Willa's Shortbread, we wanted to produce something that felt old-fashioned, southern, and nostalgic.

Our inspiration came from old collectible antique tins. We created the label for the metal tins then extended the look to small limited-color kraft boxes. Hand-rendered typography along with warm, buttery colors reflect the artisan goodness inside.

The packaging was designed to stand on it's own, but also include space for a flavor. We designed each flavor seal with its own unique personality/flavor cues and color not only to stand out on store shelves, but to give the client felxibility to swap out flavors as they needed to.

    Music City Pizza
Large Pizza Box: We were asked to design delivery boxes for Music City Pizza. So we created some cool turn table art to make the top of the large box look like it could really pack the dance floor. Most pizza box printers charge a LOT more money to print multiple colors. So sticking with our saucy black & gold 2-color branding scheme looked great and it saved the client a bunch of dough!

    Rahal Farms
    Egg Carton & Belly Band

These eggs are the best you will ever eat. So the packaging had to be as good as the product inside—upscale, earthy, healthy, delicious, without being pretentious. We used colors, hand lettering, etched illustrations, and recycled paper to convey holistic farming, natural goodness, and artful attention to quality.

of 2013, our pals at WS asked us to
    help them create a special-edition

    A fantastic Nashville-based coffee

    tin and display it permanently
    as kitchen decor.

    BEVERAGE LABEL DESIGN

A local family-owned distillery wanted to revive one of their old Bourbon brands from the late 1800s. We helped them choose a bottle shape. Then we created a new brand concept & label design, keeping as much of the old look as possible. They took our branding work and had Bill Barnes—a legend of design in Nashville—finish out the finer details of the label art. (Note Bill’s finished label in the photo.)

The legendary Music City BBQ joint Hog Heaven wanted to start bottling their famous sauces and selling them in stores. So they asked us to help them create a brand that would play up the name. We recommended using a bottle shaped like a whisky flask—(the kind you’d use to break over someone’s head in a fight.) Then we created eye-catching lable art with barnyard brawl characters so the branding would be as butt-kickin’ as the sauces. This label series won a Gold ADDY Award and has been featured on The Dieline.

    ARTISAN MAC N' CHEESE

When Dan came to us with a sampling of his artisan mac n'cheese, it became quickly apparent that this is a seriously sophisticated, gourmet, concoction of complex flavors. While the taste has grown-up, there is nothing pretentious about Dan's Gourmet. Just a few minutes with Dan will make you realize what a down-to-earth, honest to goodness, fun guy he is. So when he needed packaging to tackle the frozen food aisle, we knew just the direction to go.

    COLLECTIBLE HOLIDAY COFFEE TINS

Sometimes people buy a product more for the packaging than for what’s inside. Our Spirit of Nashville collectible coffee tins are a great example. The Bongo java coffee inside is wonderful, but folks buy these special edition holiday collector tins because of the art! The tins make great gifts and they usually become kitchen decor once the coffee is gone.
