Carlsbad Caverns National Park: Big Room-KC
2017 By Kai Carpenter, Joel Anderson
About the Art
Established in 1923, Carlsbad Caverns National Park brings us an unprecedented look at more than 300
underground limestone caves. Formed over 250 million years ago, these caves offer some of the oldest
geological features easily accessible to mankind. Imagine walking amongst unique, almost alien rock formations
that predate all current life as we know it. Anderson Design Group and oil painter Kai Carpenter
sought to recreate that awe-inspiring sensation in this early-1900s styled national parks poster. Hand-
illustrated and produced to look like a vintage print (but without the vintage price tag) this poster
reminds us of the never-ending march of time and the importance of preserving incredible destinations
like this one. To learn more about the caves, visit the National Parks Conservation
Association.
