Cambodia: Angkor Wat
2017 By Steven Garcia, Joel Anderson
About the Art
Angkor Wat is one of the most well-preserved ancient temples in all of Asia. The temple is a UNESCO
World Heritage Site and is easily one of Cambodia’s most visited attractions. Angkor Wat is the largest
religious structure in the world, and though private ownership dictated the use of the temple for some
time, the local government took control of the historic site and opened it to the public so that all could
learn the history of religious worship in Cambodia. The Angkor Wat stretches for over 154 square
miles and contains more than five million tons of sandstone! Inspired by the City of Temples, Anderson
Design Group handcrafted a vintage travel poster of the temple, a fitting depiction in retro illustration
styles of just one of the many buildings in the sweeping network of temples. To learn more about
Angkor Wat, check out Tourism Cambodia.
