Conroe, TX: Birding
2016 By Aaron Johnson, Joel Anderson
About the Art
The Red-cockaded woodpecker finds its home in old-growth pine woods in Texas and other
southeastern states. Unfortunately, this unique bird has declined in species by about three percent per
year since 1966. That means more than an 85 percent species loss. Recent conservation efforts have
begun to halt that decline, but there’s still a great deal of work ahead to save the species. At Anderson
Design Group, we believe that good deeds and conservation efforts can be inspired by art, so we
handcrafted this vintage American Travel illustration of the woodpecker in its home region near
Conroe, Texas. Show your love for this beautiful feathered creature by completing a room’s decor with
a canvas banner, framed print, metal sign, or framed postcard.
