Dry Tortugas National Park is 70 miles west of Key West and can only be reached by boat or seaplane. The park is home to Fort Jefferson, a 19th century coastal fort built with more than sixteen million bricks. The fort holds a record as the largest masonry structure in the Western Hemisphere! The park covers 64,700 acres, yet while the park does include seven islands, most of the park is comprised of the protected waters which surround the islands. In this original illustration by Anderson Design Group, witness the fort, its well-tended greenery, the historic lighthouse, and the ocean beyond. This early-1900s-style illustration serves as a bright, light-colored reminder of a sun-filled trip to one of Florida’s most-visited parks. To learn more about the park, visit the South Florida National Parks Trust.
