A national park along a remote dune-filled beach just minutes from bustling Chicago? You better believe it! Indiana Dunes National Park is one of the newest national parks, receiving its official designation in February 2019. Conservation groups from both Indiana and Illinois worked for decades to preserve these lands, finally winning a national park title that will keep the dunes protected for generations to come. As for what’s being protected, the 15,000-acre park offers 15 miles of undeveloped lakeshore, sunny prairies further inland, and swamps and forests teeming with wildlife. To celebrate Indiana Dunes National Park, Anderson Design Group collaborated with digital painter Mary Withers Kirkland on this lovely national parks poster.
