Every time someone describes a mythical creature, mythological legend, or folk tale beast, the description is a bit different from how others have described it. The result? Every interpretation is different from the last, especially considering how the imagination does unpredictable things to the five senses when one is alone in a national park at night and encounters a legend of the parks or a mythical monster! Case in point, descriptions of the Chupacabra vary wildly, partially because there have been such a wide range of sightings across many countries. From the southwestern United States to Mexico and into the Caribbean Sea on islands like Puerto Rico, tales of the Chupacabra have haunted folks far and wide. The word ‘chupacabra’ is translated literally as ‘goat-sucker’; from Spanish: chupar, ‘to suck’ and cabras, ‘goats.’ As the story goes, the beast’s name comes from its reported vampirism, as rural farmers claim the chupacabra attacks and drinks the blood of livestock, mainly goats. Inspired by these old legends and stories of mythological creatures of the national parks, Anderson Design Group poster artists hand-rendered a vintage-styled poster of the scary Chupacabra legend, an original illustration and retro design crafted in a fashion that’s reminiscent of the golden age of poster art, vintage art, Art Deco, and classic travel illustrations. This iconic monster design is available as a poster print (framed or unframed), canvas, metal sign, or as a notecard or postcard, with multiple size options available for prints, canvases, and metal signs.
