New River Gorge National Park: Looking Up By Kenneth Crane, Joel Anderson, 2021
- New River Gorge National Park: Looking Up
Known for its mountain ranges, hiking trails, babbling rivers, and its quaint towns and communities, West Virginia attracts thousands of visitors each year, especially now that it is home to Americas 63rd National Park! One focal point of this new park is the New River Gorge Bridge, a masterpiece of engineering that was completed in 1977. The gorge bridge is the longest steel-span bridge in the U.S. and the third tallest. It is not only an incredible feat of engineering, it’s a work of art! Inspired by the creation, the effort, the engineering, and the design that went into the bridge, Anderson Design Group handcrafted a vintage travel poster of the bridge, styling the poster with influences from mid-century WPA-commissioned artwork. Rendered in a timeless painterly style reminiscent of the Golden Age of Illustration by the talented artists of Anderson Design Group, this lovely design is sure to look lovely as an art print, canvas, metal sign, postcard or note card.
