White Sands National Park: Sun Bathing Lizard By Arden von Haeger, Joel Anderson, 2024
- White Sands National Park: Sun Bathing Lizard
White Sands National Park, a relatively new national park, preserves the incredible sand dunes of New Mexico. In this unique region, the desert sands are not unlike the Sahara Desert, but this is a desert that has accumulated right here in the United States! The sand is pure white because it is made of gypsum, compiling and compounding over the years to create the largest gypsum sand dune field in the world. Anderson Design Group collaborated with master artist Arden von Haeger to create this vintage-looking travel poster. Arden’s hand-rendered illustration style conveys grandeur, romance, and nuance. In his own words describing what inspired him about this particular park, Arden said, “White Sands National Park, located in southern New Mexico, is home to the world’s largest gypsum dune field, with miles of shimmering white sand that create a surreal, otherworldly landscape.” This design invokes a feeling of pride and nostalgia, a reminder of our love for the parks. This national park poster and vintage national park art is perfect for home or office decor. It also serves as an excellent national park gift for the enthusiast in your family. As an original national park illustration, this design will look great as an unframed print, framed poster, notecard, postcard, metal sign, canvas, or mini canvas. This hand-rendered nature illustration is fashioned in the style of vintage poster art and the iconic 20th-century travel art that first promoted the national parks in the 19th and 20th centuries.
