The Legend Of Beowulf
A tale as old as time and one of the great fables of English literature, Beowulf is an epic poem written in old English. Its vivid accounts bear some historical evidence and served to influence the heroic literature of Europe and the modern era. It is one of the most important and most often translated works of Old English literature, telling the tale of Beowulf, a hero of the Geats, who comes to the aid of Hrothgar, the king of the Danes, whose mead hall Heorot has been under attack by the monster Grendel for twelve years. After Beowulf slays him, Grendel's mother takes revenge and is in turn defeated. Victorious, Beowulf goes home to Geatland and becomes king of the Geats. To celebrate a classic story that still entertains readers to this day, the artists of Anderson Design Group rendered this iconic book cover, vintage poster design, and classic literature art as a part of the Literary Classics Collection, celebrating great books of all genres in 20th-century-inspired art, poster art, and original illustrations.
