During the Great Depression, President Franklin D. Roosevelt sought ways to alleviate the economic devastation by providing American workers with employment opportunities. These were much more than simple “jobs.” They were lifelines, chances to rebuild lives and feed starving families. The Works Progress Administration (WPA) and the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) were two such programs, both of which utilized unemployed Americans to improve natural resources across the nation and develop the modern national park infrastructure. One of the WPA and CCC’s biggest projects? Catoctin Mountain Park. A hand-rendered illustration styled after the vintage poster art of the 20th century, this design is available as a poster, framed print, metal sign, canvas, or as a set of notecards or postcards. This original national park art and travel art would look great on any wall in the home, or at the workplace.
