Route 66 is making an important comeback in 2026, and we’re here for it! 2026 is the Route 66 Centennial, the 100th anniversary of the “Mother Road.” The year provides an excuse to celebrate the storied history of Route 66 and to decorate with American travel art and road trip art. Route 66 was designated in 1926 and was completely paved by 1937. This was the Great American Road, well before the interstate system, a truly original road trip destination for millions of American families in the early and mid-20th century. Vintage poster art and vintage map illustrations like this one provide the perfect style for depicting American destinations like Route 66, and this original travel poster and hand-rendered art design will look great as an unframed print, framed illustration, metal sign, canvas, or as a set of notecards or postcards. Available in multiple size options, this whimsical poster was fashioned in the style of 20th-century vintage wall art and the iconic promotional travel posters that inspired family vacations in the early 1900s.
