Bowling Green is a charming college town, and home to Western Kentucky University. Founded by pioneers in 1798, Bowling Green was the provisional capital of Confederate Kentucky during the American Civil War. As of the 2020 census, its population is the third-most-populous city in the state after Louisville and Lexington. In the 21st century, it is the location of numerous manufacturers, including General Motors, Spalding, and Fruit of the Loom. The Bowling Green Assembly Plant has been the source of all Chevrolet Corvettes built since 1981. Bowling Green is also home to the world famous Corvette Museum. Inspired by the classic charm of this lovely Southern city, Anderson Design Group hand-illustrated this vintage travel poster of Fountain Square Park, which dates back to the Civil War. Plans for the park were drawn up in 1870. Today, the park sits in the middle of downtown square’s district. Throughout the spring, summer and fall months Fountain Square Park is beautifully landscaped with hanging baskets of seasonal flowers. This illustration is available as a framed print, canvas, metal sign, or as a set of notecards or postcards.
