State College is a municipality in central Pennsylvania, and is home to Penn State University’s main campus. The university's Palmer Museum of Art offers collections ranging from ancient ceramics to 20th-century American art. Beaver Stadium hosts Penn State’s football team. Discovery Space is a children’s science museum with dozens of interactive exhibits. Trails weave through Rothrock State Forest to the south. State College evolved from a village to a town to serve the needs of Pennsylvania State College, which was founded in 1855 as Farmers' High School of Pennsylvania. State College was incorporated as a borough on August 29, 1896, and it has grown with the college, which was renamed The Pennsylvania State University in 1953, an is commonly referred to as Penn State or PSU today. This lovely illustration is available as a framed print, canvas, metal sign, or as a set of notecards or postcards.
