Home of Baylor University, the city of Waco, Texas is a bustling college town and the designated “Heart of Texas” both. The city is also home to the famous Waco Suspension Bridge, a 475 ft. long structure which crosses the Brazos River. The bridge was completed in 1870 and it contains no less than 3 million bricks! The bridge connects Indian Spring Park with Doris D. Miller Park. The walking bridge is a popular destination for visitors to the city, and a great place to get some exercise too. Our ADG team put together this handcrafted illustration of the bridge, styling an American Travel Art poster after the WPA-commissioned artwork styles of the early-20th century. To learn more about the bridge and other Waco attractions, check out the Waco Convention & Visitors Bureau.
