One of the oldest cities in the Northeast, New Haven is internationally renowned for being home to Yale University, founded in 1701. The coastal town is also famous for its lighthouses and beaches, making it a popular vacation destination, especially during summer. Pictured is Five Mile Point Lighthouse, so named for being about five miles from historic downtown New Haven. The city was America’s first “planned” city, home to the first grid system and telephone directory. Vintage poster art and nostalgic travel art provide the perfect style for depicting American destinations like New Haven, and this original travel poster and hand-rendered art design will look great as an unframed print, framed illustration, metal sign, canvas, or as a set of notecards or postcards. Available in multiple size options, this whimsical poster was fashioned in the style of 20th-century vintage wall art and the iconic promotional travel posters that inspired family vacations in the early 1900s.
