New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park was designated in 1994, operating under the mission to “Serve the nation as a global leader in the promulgation of New Orleans jazz by enhancing and instilling a public appreciation and understanding of the origins, early history, development, and progression of this uniquely American music art form.” Yes, this park is dedicated entirely to preserving the roots of jazz music and curating the stories, milestones, and epic moments that led to jazz’s popularization!
