Libertalia: The Pirate Paradise By Derek Anderson, Joel Anderson, 2026

Libertalia was a purported pirate colony founded in the late 17th century in Madagascar under the leadership of Captain James Misson. The main source for Libertalia is Volume 2 of A General History of the Pyrates, a 1724 book which describes Captain Misson and Libertalia. Little to no corroborating evidence for Libertalia beyond this account has been found, and Libertalia is widely regarded as fictional by contemporary scholars. This hand-rendered design will look great as an unframed print, framed illustration, notecard, postcard, metal sign, canvas, or mini canvas. Available in multiple size options, this fantasy travel art and world destination art was fashioned in the style of 20th-century vintage art and the iconic travel art and retro art that first promoted international travel and adventure.
