Austin, Texas offers all kinds of sightseeing opportunities for visitors, but few rival the famous “Bat Bridge.” Formerly designated the Congress Avenue Bridge, this structure earned the nickname Bat Bridge due to a massive colony of bats which live under the bridge. Every night, from May to October, about 1.5 million bats swoop out from under the bridge and take off to hunt in the night skies of Austin. Anderson Design Studio captured this impressive feat of nature in a turn-of-the-century illustration of the city’s skyline, the Bat Bridge, and the departing critters themselves. Order this vintage poster art as a rustic metal sign, retro canvas banner, or classic framed print. To learn more about the bridge and the best places to view the bats, check out the Austin Visitor Center.
