Few Tennessee cities hold as much history as Clarksville. For example, the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center in Clarksville is Tennessee's second largest general interest museum. The center features many interesting attractions including fine art, history, and children's exhibits. It is located in the city’s Downtown District on 200 South 2nd Street, an easy walk from other popular attractions. The Customs House Museum & Cultural Center is partially housed in a historic 1898 building, which was originally constructed as a Federal Post Office and Custom House to handle the large volume of foreign mail that was needed at the time thanks to the city’s prominent, international trade in tobacco. The building also housed the Clarksville Department of Electricity from 1939 to 1979 before becoming a museum. The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972 and is a popular attraction today for both locals and visitors alike. Seeking to preserve the history of Clarksville in our own way, award-winning Anderson Design Group poster artists rendered this classic design in the tradition of the Golden Age of Poster Art. This retro-styled travel poster will look great as an art print, framed print, notecard, postcard, metal sign, canvas, or mini canvas.
