Located on the Ohio River, Louisville, Kentucky is the largest and oldest city in the state. The city was founded in 1778 as a portage site to allow river traffic to bypass the nearby Falls of the Ohio waterfall system. Today, Louisville is known for being the home of Kentucky Friend Chicken, bourbon distilleries, Louisville Slugger baseball bats, and the Kentucky Derby. Louisville’s downtown district features several historic buildings and parks plus lots of fine dining opportunities just walking distance from the scenic river. Anderson Design Group hand-illustrated this vintage American Travel poster in a style reminiscent of the early-20th century, the hallmark era of the Golden Age of Illustration.
