One of the iconic aspects of Mobile, Alabama is the famous “Azalea Trail Maids.” The Maids are a group of fifty high school seniors chosen to be the ambassadors of Mobile. An honor and a privilege, being a Maid means dressing in iconic Southern antebellum-style garb and often introducing foreigners and dignitaries to the city. The Maids are required to maintain a good grade point average, and they must have a good understanding of the city’s history and culture. As the years have passed, the Maids have begun to travel across the country to represent Mobile, appearing in major events like the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, Disney’s Easter Parade in Orlando, the Chicago Christmas Parade, the Indianapolis 500 Parade, the Presidential Inaugural Parade, and the 4th of July parade in Atlanta. Anderson Design Group hand-rendered a vintage poster design of the Maids, honoring them for the role they play in the culture of Mobile. This artwork is available for your wall as a print, banner, canvas, metal sign, hand-stretched canvas, notecard, postcard, or framed postcard.
