Mount Saint Helens, in Washington State, is famous for being a massive stratovolcano and for its immense 1980 eruption. Though the mountain is still an active volcano to this day, thousands of people visit the region every year and enjoy hiking or camping near the mountain. Protected and conserved by the United States Forest Service, the entire region around Mount Saint Helens is a wilderness refuge of its own. Forests, lakes, rivers, valleys, meadows, and more attract nature lovers, fishermen, hikers, kayakers, backpackers, and vacationing families. Inspired by the daunting beauty of one of the only active volcanoes in the lower 48 states, Anderson Design Group handcrafted vintage travel art of a lake beneath the mountain peak. To learn more about the mountain and the best times to visit it, check out the website for the U.S. Forest Service.
