New York City is known for a lot of things, but few aspects of the city carry as much historical significance as Ellis Island. Ellis Island had been in use as a military base for decades prior to the designation of the island as an immigrant station. But from 1892 until 1954, Ellis Island was the single busiest immigration station in the entire United States. Ellis Island is not just a New York City landmark, it is a national icon. Our country was built on immigrants, so a national icon like Ellis Island is important to protect, conserve, and remember. To salute the island in our own way, Anderson Design Group offers a Kai Carpenter oil painting, a vintage travel poster of immigrants arriving to the island.
