American Armed Forces: Air Force By Michael Korfhage, Joel Anderson, 2014
- American Armed Forces: Air Force
To truly honor the traditions, histories, and landmarks of the American legacy, we must at times look outward to international locales to appreciate the accomplishments of our great nation abroad. One such example is Kadena Air Force Base, on the island of Okinawa, in the country of Japan. Founded in 1945, this base serves as the international hub of American airpower in the Pacific, home to many Air Force units and an employer of 18,000 Americans and 4,000 Japanese. ADG’s team designed this illustration in an art style similar to what would have been the style of the day back in the 1940s. We wanted to communicate the sensation, the culture, and the history of this air force base, all in one illustration. To learn more about the base, visit Kadena Air Base.
