Some of the greatest beauty to be found in Europe is in the ancient and historic buildings that still stand to this day. The City of Brussels is the capital of Belgium and a prime example of a city that has worked hard to preserve its history through its stunning architecture. Brussels grew from a small rural settlement on the river Senne to become an important city-region in Europe, now a mecca of art, design, business, trade, and commerce. The Brussels Grand-Place, the city’s central square, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998. The Town Hall features a striking façade with long columns gilded with gold detailing, including a mixture of gothic, baroque, and Louis XIV architectural styling. Located in the central square, it’s part of the most visited area in the city and was rebuilt in 1695 after an attack by the French army. Inspired by the square and its vivid history, Anderson Design Group rendered this classic design in the tradition of the Golden Age of Poster Art. This retro-styled travel poster will look great as an art print, notecard, postcard, metal sign, canvas, or mini canvas.
