Located across the bay from Tokyo and Yokohama , Yokosuka has been an important coastal community for centuries and now hosts a large naval base for both the Japanese and American fleets. On the water, Mikasa Park is named for a 1900s battleship, now a museum. Kannonzaki Lighthouse, rebuilt in 1925, has sweeping views of Tokyo Bay. Verny Park’s European-style garden honors the French engineer who built the original 1869 lighthouse. Ferries run to Sarushima Island, which has beaches and Tokugawa-era fortifications. You can see Mt. Fuji from certain points in Yokosuka on clear days, especially from the coast or high ground like Tateishi Park and Mt. Takatoriyama. Anderson Design Group poster artists hand-rendered this original illustration in the fashion of vintage poster art and classic travel art from the 20th Century. This retro design and original art is available as a poster, print, canvas, mini canvas, metal sign, notecard, or postcard.
