Mexico has some of the most iconic natural diving sites in the world, as depicted in this original travel poster. One such site, located in Acapulco, is called “La Quebrada” (Spanish for “gulch” or “ravine”). Divers entertain tourists by jumping off either of two ledges on the cliff: one 40 feet high and the other 80 feet high. In a truly epic feat of courage, the divers must calculate the right moment to jump to catch an incoming wave and avoid serious injury or even death. The divers have it down to a science, though, and there is even a La Quebrada Cliff Divers group, established in 1934. This classic design and vintage travel art celebrating a cliff and ocean paradise is available as a poster, print, metal sign, notecard, or postcard.
