ADG Decor Contest Winners

ADG Decor Contest Winners

We enjoy seeing how our customers and fans use our artwork to decorate their homes, businesses, RVs, and other wall spaces that need a little love. The posters we create are all about special places where people have traveled, making memories with people they love. Our artwork celebrates adventure, beauty, wilderness and wonder—so our customers always have a story associated with the poster art they choose to decorate with. The displays and decor schemes they create tell a tale of their travels, meaningful moments, and the places where they feel a strong sense of connection. We get a lot of satisfaction from knowing that our labors of love end up becoming a part of other peoples' stories. It's why we do what we do. Our small, family-owned biz has been illustrating, designing, and producing poster art since 2004, so it's nice to pause every now and then and celebrate the good people who have bought our prints, displayed them on their walls, and shared their adventures with others.

Recently, we held a wall decor contest for all the folks who have signed up to be on our email list (if you are not on it, you can sign up by scrolling to the bottom of our home page and clicking the Sign Up button). The top 3 winners received a $100 gift card. The Special Honors winners received a $25 gift card, and everyone else who entered received a coupon for 20% off of anything on our site. We hope these creative people inspire you as much as they have inspired us!

Top 3 winners:

These contest winners each won a $100 gift card:

1. Jason Sorci, for creating a gorgeous outdoor porch decor scheme with our canvases

We did an interview with Jason to hear more about his inspiration:

• What inspired you to decorate with our travel poster art?

We wanted to design a space that was light and stylized with an easy going travel vibe. We had been a big fan of your graphical aesthetic from your national parks posters and we're excited to find the European cities posters. The repetition of the lady with the wide brimmed hat gave a great travel album feel to our space.

• Do you have a personal connection with the artwork you chose? (Like a special trip, memory, or event that the artwork commemorates?)

We visited Nice in 2019 when on a trip to see the circus competition in Monte Carlo. Long story, but it was a ton of fun. Florence has been a favorite city of mine since visiting in the early 90s. Never been to Portofino, but the lady with the wife brimmed hat has [been there!]

• What are some dream trips you still want to take?

We are headed to Alba for the truffle festival. Going truffle hunting. Visiting Milan and staying on lake Como in October.  A dream trip for sure.

• Anything you want to say about your experience with Anderson Design Group?

Love the graphical aesthetic. Very easy to order, quick to receive. Shipping was secure, no damage. Easy and beautiful...a great combination.

• Do you have any advice for folks who may be inspired by your creative decorating ideas?

Be thoughtful and intentional. Make it personal and bring you joy.

Jason used a unique bracket mounting system to hang his canvases.

2. Talia Donohue, for using our prints to make a stunning living room sitting area design

We did a quick interview with Talia to find out more about what inspired her:

• What inspired you to decorate with our travel poster art?

First and foremost, the bright colors and the way your artists put them together. There are a lot of travel poster artworks out there, but I really love the quality and attention to detail all of the Anderson Design Group travel posters show.

• Do you have a personal connection with the artwork you chose? (Like a special trip, memory, or event that the artwork commemorates?)

Yes! My husband and I chose these 4 particular artworks because of our personal connections to them. We were both born and raised in Phoenix and that’s our forever home. We honeymooned on the island of Kauai and have distinct memories of that exact view while hiking the Na Pali coast. We lived in Southwestern Michigan for a few years and frequented Lake Michigan and Silver Beach which is where the St. Joseph lighthouse is located. And finally, Seattle has a special place in our hearts because we have family and friends that live there and we try to visit as often as possible and consider it a second home.

• What are some dream trips you still want to take?

I would love to do more international travel. Thailand, Ireland, and New Zealand are at the top of my list.

• Anything you want to say about your experience with Anderson Design Group?

Anderson Design Group has been wonderful! I have ordered from ADG a few times now and always have great experiences and the quality is unbeatable.

• Do you have any advice for folks who may be inspired by your creative decorating ideas?

Have fun with decorating, make frequent changes, and most importantly, make sure you add your own personal touches and flare to any space you decorate. You want your space to reflect you!

3. Melissa Schipke, for using our postcards to make an incredible wall display

Here is an interview with Jenni:

• What inspired you to decorate with our travel poster art?

We really liked the style of the art! The modern and natural look blends our styles together and makes for a great statement wall in our living room.

• Do you have a personal connection with the artwork you chose? (Like a special trip, memory, or event that the artwork commemorates?)

One of our life goals is to visit all the US national parks. In our photo, you can see a scratch-off map where we keep track of all the parks we have visited. We display the posters of our most recent travels and switch out the posters after each new trip!

• What are some dream trips you still want to take?

Of course, to visit all the national parks! I cannot wait to visit some of the big name parks like Yosemite, Yellowstone, and the Grand Canyon, as we have been mostly visiting the lesser known parks. We also plan to travel to Europe together in the near future as we have both been previously but not together!

• Anything you want to say about your experience with Anderson Design Group?

We have had excellent experiences! It is like Christmas morning when our posters arrive! I love the quality of the posters, design and customer service.

• Do you have any advice for folks who may be inspired by your creative decorating ideas?

Do what works for you and brings you joy! Our posters are in our main living space and makes up the majority of our "decor" for the area. I love seeing it every day but that might not be for everyone. Do what makes you happy and makes sense for your space.
