The 2019 State Parks Photo Contest February 08, 2019

Thank you SO much for sharing your State Parks photos and memories with us! It is always a treat to see where our friends like to visit, explore, and unwind.

Although we received many breathtaking photos, we chose three winners that especially inspired us to race to our desks and create a tribute poster in honor of that park.

Below you will find the winning photos as well as a few of our favorite entries. Be sure to check the American National Monuments & Natural Wonders collection each month to see if your favorite state park gets poster-ized. Enjoy!

Smith Rock State Park (Oregon)

"The stop at this state park was one of many on a two week trip around Oregon and northern California. On this particularly beautiful sunny day, we left Columbia River Gorge stopping at Painted Hills National Monument before arriving at Smith Rock State Park where we hiked the Misery Ridge trail. The climb up was indeed miserable though the surrounding scenery provided ample fuel to keep pushing us forward. This photo of the towering rock spire reflected in the Crooked river was taken on the backside of the trail at which point our legs had a chance to recover."
