The Votes are In! 2024 Accomplishments and Releases Our Customers Liked the Most

2024 was a big year for Anderson Design Group. As always, we are so thankful for our customers and fans who’ve supported the arts and small family-owned businesses like ours. Our loyal customers ensure that the creation of original poster art “keeps on-a-happenin’” right here in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee.

The following are a few of ADG's achievements, accomplishments, and popular releases in 2024, notable moments throughout the year where we felt truly blessed to be here doing what we do every day.

(Travel was a big part of our 2024, which we get into towards the end of this article. But first, enjoy a snippet of Molly Mann's adventures to the Pacific Northwest!)

New National Park Coffee Table Book

Our biggest achievement for 2024 was the release of Wilderness & Wonder: An Illustrated Guide to the National Parks. Creative Director Joel Anderson, collaborating artist Kenneth Crane, and writer/researcher Ren Brabenec had been working on this project for 18 months, and they got it done just in time for the holidays!

Enjoy a captivating journey to America’s most beloved natural lands. Wilderness & Wonder’s art of the national parks is depicted in a loose, hand-rendered dry-brush composition style and supported by dozens of on-site photographs and hundreds of travel tips, inspiring park descriptions, historical information, and educational facts about the geology, biology, human history, and wildlife of the parks. Not only is the book visually beautiful, but it is also easy to read (ideal for younger readers) and educational! Bonus material includes An Illustrated History of the National Parks, A National Park Map of the USA, How the Art is Made, and a handy glossary.

Several Newly Unearthed Ghost Stories About Spooky Legends of the National Parks (And Poster Art to Follow!)

Just when you thought it was safe to go back outside, our researchers and national park sleuths uncovered more mysterious beasts and mythical creatures said to live in the national parks!

From the Spectre Moose of Acadia National Park to the Reptoid of Lassen Volcanic and the Urayuli of Kobuk Valley, these beasties have been depicted in poster art for all to see, learn about, and prepare for. Who will we find potentially lurking in the parks in 2025?

Artist Collaboration with the Talented Nyguen Tran

Anderson Design Group has collaborated with Nyguen Tran to produce an array of poster art focusing on national parks, American travel, and world travel. Tran’s work is the perfect addition to your home or office decor or an excellent gift for the travel enthusiast in your family.

Tran depicts iconic landscapes and memorable locales in a fluid, painterly style that harkens back to the vintage poster art designs of the early and mid-20th century.

Artist Collaboration with Groovy Annie Cauffman

ADG founder Joel Anderson also collaborated with Mod artist Annie Cauffman to produce a swanky, mid-Century Modern line of travel prints.

Annie's bold sense of style and her iconic vintage mid-century mod rendering techniques add a classic jet-age whimsey to our popular National Park, World Travel, and American Travel poster art collections. Reminiscent of the iconic TWA posters of the mid-20th Century, Annie's art brings a groovy vibe to the ADG poster offering.

A Brand New Space Travel Coloring Book That’s Perfect for All Ages

A new release just in time for the holidays, this deluxe 60-page coloring book is perfect for coloring enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. We took our popular Space Travel poster art and redrew each composition by hand to create 48 coloring pages that feature our favorite outer space posters.

We also included eight full-color pages with reference imagery of our original poster designs, plus educational text about the history of human space exploration. This deluxe 8.5” x 11” coloring book is printed on gallery-grade drawing paper. Created for use with crayons, colored pencils, or felt tip markers, this beautiful and educational book offers hours of coloring fun! It’s simply out of this world!

Dozens of Original Poster Art Designs for America’s National Monuments and Less-Traveled NPS Sites

Often referred to as the paths less traveled, the national monuments and other NPS sites don’t typically earn the acclaim and international celebrity status as the 63 flagship National Parks, but these icons of America are no less wondrous and meaningful.

ADG’s artists explore these beauties in the American National Monuments and Natural Wonders Collection, a work of poster art we greatly expanded this year.

Customer-requested Space Travel and American State Pride Postcard Collections Now Available for Purchase

Postcards are great gifts and a wonderful way to keep in touch with friends and family. Just in time for the holidays, ADG released two new postcard sets:

Space Travel 54-Piece Set. In the first half of the 20th Century, Space Travel was within our grasp as America soared to new heights in sleek aircraft and traveled the highways in cars with rocket fins. Science and imagination inspired dreams of galactic family vacations. Fueled by fantastic pulp fiction novels, comic books, popular science magazines, and even textbooks, a futuristic industry was born.

State Pride 51-Piece Set. The State Pride Collection is a bold, iconic series of poster art created to celebrate each of the 50 states of this beautiful country. (We’ve also added an extra postcard for Washington, DC!) Featuring an iconic image for each state, bold type for the state name and nickname, plus the state flag, each of the 51 postcards provides a stylish way to keep up with your travels.

National Park Games Released as Beloved Gift Items

Anderson Design Group partnered with Masterpieces to create a gorgeous, fun, educational board game. If you love exploring nature, American National Parks, wildlife, strategy, luck, and learning, you will love this new National Park “Opoly” board game!

This game comes with a game board inspired by the parks, featuring iconic landmarks, wildlife, and National Trails. The game is for two to six players and is great for family game night! National Parks Opoly is a perfect way to learn more about America’s national parks and have educational fun.

But that’s not all! Our team also partnered with Masterpieces to create a fun memory game that invites you to immerse yourself in the beauty of America’s treasured landscapes with the National Parks Memory Game.

Designed for families and adults, this game is the perfect blend of challenge and education, featuring 36 iconic National Parks, such as the majestic Grand Canyon, the geothermal wonders of Yellowstone, and the lush forests of the Great Smoky Mountains. Each park is beautifully represented through the poster art of Anderson Design Group, turning this memory game into a visual journey across the nation’s most beloved vistas.

It’s Been Confirmed: We’ve Created Over 3,000 Original Poster Designs!

In 2024, we confirmed, reconfirmed, and certified the milestone of creating over 3,000 original poster designs!

Located in our many art collections, the over 3,000 individual illustrations, retro designs, and vintage-styled posters are each a testament to the beautiful places, people, animals, activities, food, beverages, and settings that inspire ADG artists.

Completed Portfolio Site Featuring Many of ADG’s Most Cherished Projects

Most customers know ADG for our poster art and vintage travel art, but ADG’s design, illustration, branding, package design, hand-lettering, and product development clients are always telling the artists they should promote their incredible works more, so ADG drafted, launched, and perfected a portfolio website dedicated to the studio’s contract work with other businesses and brands!

This website has five pages worth of projects ADG has been honored to work on with clients across Tennessee and beyond.

World Travel Collection Continues to be the Most Comprehensive Depiction of Earth’s Countries

We’ve created one of the most comprehensive collections of art featuring just about all of the world’s countries!

Yes, the World Travel collection has over 400 original posters of literally hundreds of different countries, with more posters on the way!

In Between All of Those Projects, ADG Traveled A LOT

It’s almost hard to believe, but in between all the projects our team was involved in this year, ADG’s in-house staff and outside collaborators still managed to travel to destinations across the country and world, searching for inspiration and reference material for new art.

The following is not a full list of everyone’s travels, but these are the ones that were documented in our blog (click the links below to read more about each adventure):

ADG Founder and Creative Director Joel Anderson and collaborating artist Kenneth Crane traveled to Great Smoky Mountains National Park with Daniel S. Pierce (our co-author on a favorite coffee table book about the Smokies from a few years back!)

Collaborating artist Kenneth Crane and staff writer Ren Brabenec traveled to Isle Royale National Park while working on the Wilderness & Wonder coffee table book.

Studio artist Derek Anderson traveled to the American Southwest with friends (he visited several national and state parks, took hundreds of photos, returned to the studio, and got to work making more poster art!)

Molly Mann, ADG’s social media manager and customer service guru traveled to Washington’s three national parks, taking hundreds of photos and exploring parks ADG’s staff had never been to!

Here’s to an Incredible 2025

From the bottom of our hearts, all the staff at Anderson Design Group couldn’t be more thankful for the support of our customers across the country and the world, individuals who made 2024 such a great year.

Every poster and product purchased ensures our studio will continue producing original artwork, fun products, and gifts for years to come. Every purchase also supports national parks, battered women, people without housing, nature enthusiasts, and students with aspirations of careers in the arts, as ADG donates a portion of each year’s profits to the National Park Foundation and other important nonprofits.

Here’s to a joyous and meaningful New Year.
