Born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas, Derek Anderson (not related to ADG founder Joel Anderson) eventually made his way to Nashville, where he studied graphic design and illustration at Watkins College of Art.
During his senior year, Derek was an all-star intern with ADG, producing several posters that have been published in our permanent collections. His stellar work earned him a full-time staff position once he graduated in the spring of 2017, and he has hand-rendered hundreds of original illustrations since.
Derek likes to create ideas from a narrator’s point of view, deciding what perspective tells the story most effectively. In his free time, Derek enjoys skateboarding with his friends and playing guitar. Derek is a sci-fi nerd at heart and loves creating fictional movie and video game poster art on the side.
