United States Armed Forces: Marines
2014 By Michael Korfhage, Joel Anderson
About the Art
As we pay tribute through our art to the national parks, American cities, national monuments, and
points of interest, we also must tip our artistic hats to our country’s armed forces, our protectors,
and guardians of the nation. Our illustrators at Anderson Design Group created a mini-series of turn-of-the-
century poster art to honor the armed forces: a hand-illustrated salute via the medium of vintage poster
art. This particular piece depicts the statue of John A. Lejeune, a well-known Marine Lieutenant
General. The statue stands tall and proud at Camp Lejeune, a Marine Corps base in Jacksonville, North
Carolina. To learn more about the base and the statue that keeps watch over it, check out the Commemorative Landscapes of North Carolina.
Our gorgeous art canvases are made-to-order on high-fidelity printers and stretched onto wood frames with hanging brackets installed. Each work of art features an original illustration by the talented, award-winning artists of Anderson Design Group.
