American College Towns: Auburn, Alabama
2014 By Michael Korfhage, Joel Anderson
About the Art
Auburn is a pleasant, historic college town known for its small town, village feel. Auburn University, the most recognized feature of the city, was first opened as a Methodist college in 1859. Today, the university has changed much, just as the city has. But Auburn hasn’t
forgotten its roots. Our American cities function as the backbone of our nation, what makes the United
States the bold and unique country that it is. Anderson Design Group set off to create the American
Travel series to honor these cities and all of the unique points of interest in between. Show your love
for Auburn with this classic illustration styled after the WPA-commissioned artwork of the early-20th
century. To learn more about the city, visit the Auburn and Opelika
Tourism Bureau.
Enjoy our art outdoors by ordering your favorite designs on metal signs. Our all-weather, rust-resistant signs are ideal for any porch, barn, fence, warehouse, garage, or bar. Featuring gorgeous color printing, they offer a more casual look than canvases or framed prints.
