American College Towns: Blacksburg, VA

Blacksburg, Virginia is best known for being the home of the nationally recognized Virginia Tech University. The city was also named in 2011 by BusinessWeek as the best place in the U.S. to raise kids. The city has that safe and pleasant, small town Southern feel. Several old houses which have been preserved and restored adorn the blocks of the city's historic corridor. These homes add a flair of culture and history to the city, making it a town that cares about its roots. At Anderson Design Group, we appreciate good history, and we were inspired by the architecture of some of the old Blacksburg homes. We handcrafted an illustration of one of those homes, modeling this American Travel Art piece after the WPA-commissioned artwork of the early-1900s.
