Clemson, South Carolina earned recognition from the Princeton Review as being the number one city in the nation for having superb relations with its resident university. Clemson University is a major institute of higher education founded in 1889. The university was actually brought into existence by the diligent efforts of women in the area, a feat considered unheard of during that time period. The city and the university’s rich history is something to be proud of, so Anderson Design created this vintage poster to add to our American Travel series. We style our art after the WPA-commissioned artwork of the 1930s-1950s, a time period when travel art and the Golden Age of Illustration was revolutionizing the way illustration was being done.
