American College Towns: Columbia, MO
2014 By Michael Korfhage, Joel Anderson
About the Art
Columbia, Missouri is known for public art, independent journalism, motivated
youth movements, and the University of Missouri. One of the landmarks of the city is depicted in
early-20th century illustration by Anderson Design Group. This is the Columns on Francis
Quadrangle, a central feature to both the university and the city. Illustrated during a beautiful Midwest
sunset, these columns rise like guardian sentinels over the university, seeming to protect the right to
higher education for all. Order this vintage American Travel art to remember a trip to the university or
classes taken there. To get more information about Columbia and its many points of interest, visit the
Columbia
Convention and Visitors Bureau.
