About the Art

Austin is the capital of Texas and is currently one of the fastest growing cities in the United States. But the city experienced its first real boom in 1871 with the opening of the Houston and Texas Central Railway. The railroad turned Austin into a major trading center for the region, namely by the transport of cotton and cattle. Almost overnight, Austin became a cowboy town, as cattle “drovers” would push cattle from ranches all across the region towards Austin for further transport. To celebrate Austin’s unique heritage, Anderson Design Group handcrafted this American Travel poster art, taking inspiration from the illustration techniques of the early-20th century. Order this print for your home’s decor as a canvas banner, metal sign, or framed art print. And to learn more about the city of Austin, check out the Austin Visitor Center.
