Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park: Painted Wall
2018 By Aaron Johnson, Joel Anderson
About the Art
The Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is known for its impressive vertical canyon faces,
brilliant “painted wall” color formations, and sweeping views. The Gunnison River formed the Black
Canyon over the course of some two million years, a never-ending caress of erosion by water and wind.
In this handcrafted vintage National Parks poster by Anderson Design Group, our illustrators captured
the imagery that only the Black Canyon can create. This original design takes its inspiration
from the WPA-commissioned art style of the early-1900s. Our customers can show their love for the
national parks and support the arts at the same time with a framed print, full-size vintage poster, canvas
banner, or set of notecards or postcards. To learn more about the Black Canyon and the surrounding
areas, visit the Colorado West Land Trust.
