Canyons of the Ancients National Monument, CO

About the Art
Canyons of the Ancients National Monument is a federally-protected region in southwestern Colorado.
The land was designated a National Monument in an effort to protect the cultural and natural resources
of the area. Canyons of the Ancients National Monument contains archaeological sites unlike any other
in the U.S. In fact, the region contains archaeological sites reflecting almost every aspect of pre-
colonial indigenous life, including field houses, check dams, reservoirs, great kivas, cliff dwellings,
shrines, and sacred springs. Inspired by the historic nature of the region, Anderson Design Group
handcrafted vintage travel poster art of the Monument, a colorful rendition of one of the ancient
buildings. A fitting home decor item and a reminder to all of us to protect our country’s heritage, this
artwork is available as an art print, canvas banner, framed print, or metal sign. To learn more, visit the
Bureau of Land Management.
