Death Valley National Park: Leopard Lizard
2023 By Arden von Haeger, Joel Anderson
About the Art
Anderson Design Group was proud to collaborate with master pastel artist Arden von Haeger to produce this classic-looking Death Valley poster. Arden's classic hand-rendered illustration style conveys grandeur, romance, and nuance. His inventive use of color and his unique Art Deco styling deliver a delightful new take on some of America's most iconic destinations. Death Valley National Park is the hottest, driest, and lowest of the National Parks. The park offers a
unique ecosystem quite unlike what most of us have seen before. Most of the park resides at 282 feet
below sea level. Yet the park also has tall, snow-crested peaks. Most of the park is an extremely dry,
harsh desertscape, yet the park’s many oases offer a peaceful and verdant reprieve from the sun-
scorched land. Styled after the WPA-commissioned artwork of the early-1900s, this Anderson Design
Group art piece presents the driest National Park in a wistful array of color and illustration only seen in
vintage art. To learn more about the park and its many features, visit the Death Valley
Conservancy.
