About the Art

El Salvador is a tropical paradise. One of the most favored cities in the country is Izalco, a small town built on “Volcan Izalco,” a relatively young volcano in western El Salvador. The city is famous for a peasant rebellion in the 1930s in which the residents of Izalco sought freedom from an oppressive military regime. The city is also famous for its beautiful churches, one of which is pictured here. Hand- etched in a style akin to the WPA-commissioned artwork of the early-20th century, Anderson Design Group crafted vintage travel poster art of Izalco, a lovely rendition of one the churches and the impressive volcanic peaks in the background. Available as an art print, canvas banner, framed print, or metal sign, this illustration would make the perfect gift or post-vacation keepsake.
