Explore America By Rail
2014 Joel Anderson
About the Art
Did you know that the United States has more miles of railroad track than any other nation in the
world? The great railways of America carry with them a certain sense of history, a nostalgia for an era
when travel by train was the most affordable and sensible means of traversing the nation. Today we
can remember those days with a sentimentality depicted in vintage travel poster art. In this original
Anderson Design Group illustration, our artists hand-illustrated a travel poster, styling the locomotive,
railcars, text, and even the color scheme after the WPA-commissioned artwork of the early-20th
century. Hang this poster on your wall to show your love for one of the most iconic ways of traversing
our great nation.
