About the Art

When conservationist Robert Marshall explored northern Alaska in 1929, he came to a valley bordered by two mighty peaks, Frigid Crags and Boreal Mountain. He named the region, “Gates of the Arctic” and the name stuck. To celebrate one of the only national parks that lies within the Arctic Circle, Anderson Design Group teamed up with master pastel artist Arden von Haeger to produce a hand-rendered national park poster that conveys grandeur, romance, and drama. In Arden’s own words as he described his inspiration for the piece, “Gates of the Arctic National Park unfolds in a spectacular tapestry of jagged peaks, pristine rivers, and vast tundra valleys that epitomize rugged Alaskan beauty. Amid this remote wilderness, red foxes roam gracefully across the sweeping landscape, embodying the park’s abundant and diverse wildlife.” Order this national park art as a print, framed poster, canvas, metal sign, mini canvas, or as a set of note cards or postcards.
