Georgia: Tbilisi

Georgia is a small country in western Asia. The country is bordered by Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Russia. Tbilisi, the capital city, has a complex history, with periods spent under both Persian and Russian rule. Because of that, the architecture and design of the city reflects a wide range of styles, patterns, and cultures. Visitors to Tbilisi can find Eastern Orthodox churches, ornate art nouveau buildings, and Soviet Modernist structures, all on the same city block.
