Glen Canyon Dam, Arizona

Completed in 1966, the Glen Canyon Dam is a massive structure, a huge arch-gravity dam that spans the Colorado River very near the Arizona and Utah border. The construction of the dam also led to the creation of the Glen Canyon National Recreation area, a region which attracts thousands of visitors every year for house boating, fishing, water-skiing, swimming, and other water activities.
