Golden Spike (Pub Poster)
2019 By Aaron Johnson, Joel Anderson
About the Art
This poster celebrates the historic ceremony marking the completion of the First Transcontinental Railroad across the United States connecting the Central Pacific and Union Pacific railroads on May 10, 1869, at Promontory Summit, Utah Territory. The golden spike is the ceremonial 17.6-karat gold final spike driven by Leland Stanford to join the two rails. Uinta Brewing Co. created a fine beer called Golden Spike—an unfiltered wheat ale with a pleasant citrus nose with a touch of bready malt character. Red wheat creates a full body and mouth feel—much like the feeling your eyes get when you look at the poster we created to celebrate the beer and the historic event!
